The new Tamang Heritage Trail, offers a peak at the Himalayan life-style and culture. The Trail takes you to verdant midlands of Nepal experiencing the beauty of the mountain region and the culture of the people who life here. The trail passes through traditional Tamang villages where life, culture, crafts have remained unchanged since the beginning of the settlement. Ltd and the locals, there elaborate costumes, rich architecture of their mountain houses, and the ancient monasteries and places of prayer add color to the experience of this trail. In addition to cultural experience, the trek also offers wilderness experience through beautiful landscapes of alpine terrain, flat meadows, and rhododendron forests. Tamang Heritage Trekking starts either from Dhunche or Syabrubesi and passes through Goljung, Gatlang, chilime, Thuman, Timure and Briddim. The trail may end baTrekkingck in Syabrubesi of follow the Langtang trek from Briddim village via Khamjim. Goljung has an ancient monastery. From the view point at Bahundanda near by one can see a panopamice view of Langtang, Kerung, and the Ganesh Himal, Sanjen Himal ranges. Gatlang set high one a hillside among terraced fields is a Tamang settlement. One can visit a Tamang monastery and the beautiful Parvatikunda Lake at Gatlang. Bathing in the hot, healing waters of the natural spring at Tatopani en route from Gatlang to chilime is an exhilarating experience. Brimdang offers cultural experience at community-run home-stay, while Nagthali in Thuman VDC is surrounded bye beautiful views of Himalayan ranges.
Day By Day Itinerary:
Day 01. Arrival in Kathmandu.(1350m)
Nepal Visitors airport representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. It is 7 km and takes about 30 minutes. Our tour leader will brief the group about the trip at the pre-departure meeting.
Day 02. Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour (1350m)
Breakfast. Today we explore the culturally diverse city of Kathmandu by bus with a local guide to ensure you receive the best explanations about the amazing sites seen on the tour. These include, Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath, Swayambunath (Monkey Temple) and Patan Durbar square.
Day 03. Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1467 m.) via Trishuli (Nuwakot)
Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1467 m.) via Trishuli (Nuwakot) which takes about 9 hours. You stay overnight at hotel in Syabrubesi.
Day 04. Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2238m.)
via Goljung takes about six hours. While trekking you experience of the Tamang culture.
Day 05. Gatlang to Tatopani (2607m.)
It takes about six hours. On the way you enjoy view of Langtang range and Ganesh Himal. At Tatopani which naturally signifies ‘hot water’, you can take hot bath in natural hot springs with bathing areas in the lap of the mountains.
Day 06. Tatopani to Thuman (2338m.)
After breakfast you trek to Thuman. En route you can encounter animals like monkeys and deer. The panoramic view of Langtang, Kerung, Ganesh Himal, Sanjen ranges can be viewed from Nagthali.
Day 07. Thuman to Timure (1762m.)
It takes about five hours. While trekking from Thuman to Timure you can visit nearby historical Rasuwagadi. This day’s trekking grants you an opportunity to observe Tibeto Burman Tamang culture on the two villages on the way. Timure is on the old trade route to Tibet. A fort here is a historical reminder of the Nepal Tibetan relations that has existed for many centuries.
Day 08. Timure to Briddim (2229m.)
This Day, you will walk about six hours to reach at camp. You can experience village life of Briddim. Moreover, you can enjoy cultural show performed by community members. You can also experience of home stay and Tamang culture.
Day 09. Briddim to Syabrubesi (1467m.)
It takes 3 hours. You trek from Briddim to Syabrubesi via Wangel. This day the trail moves gentle descent passing through villages, terraces and magnificent views of surrounded hills.
Day 10. Drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu.
Day 11. Free day in Kathmandu.
Day 12. Final Departure
